AN EXCERPT FROM B.O.B
When we enter this world, we are born to become enthused and enlightened by the inevitable – the need to belong. Much like food, clothing and shelter, belonging is a basic need which must be filled so that we can reach fulfillment. It is crucial to our sense of self and pivotal to our survival. The grand mistake that the masses make is to walk around with an empty or near-empty cup of belonging, expecting others to fill it up. They beg and beg for a single drop, all the while being left parched in soul, thirsty for trust, dehydrated from pouring too much in the cups of others and drained from the floods of disappointments. In so doing, they fail to realize that belonging comes from the inside out and not from the outside in.
My Story
I have acquired greatness only because I have been guiltless in my approach on the battlefield of belonging. It is a battle I have fought since birth when my mother handed me over to my grandmother. It is a battle which blistered the core of me growing up, as my father was nowhere to be found. It is a battle which aimed to belittle my big dreams as even friends and family questioned my views and values. It is a battle I won because I go to the One for all the ammunition I need to protect my ambitions. My Belonging is in Him.
